28mm Hessians: 1760-63 Regiment Mansbach 1st BTN

First battalion using Black Hussar figures. White facings are always slightly tricky to paint.

15mm Classical Indians (King Porus): Cavalry (1)

So here we embark on a new project, a Classical army of the era of King Porus. These are the first three cavalry units. There are many difficuties in doing this army namely types of colour schemes and symbols used but here I will make a stab at it. I will be going for bright colours (mostly) used sometimes in unusual combinations. Symbols of flags will be loosely based on Devangari script not because that is correct (this army is a little too early) but because it conveys an Indian feel to it all. And, of course, there will be many pachyderms, as well as chariots and archers.

All or most figures will be from Xyston.

40mm WAS/SYW:Battle of Nowhere-yet-wald (1)

I had some time this week to sort out the gaming table and to place my 40mm WAS/SYW collection to see how much space I had left over. The answer is not much! I still have some Austrian bits and pieces to finish - much more Prussian infantry and all the Prussian cavalry to do as well. Maybe I should trim down the OOBs as I am running out of space. By the way, the Austrian infantry is deployed in my representation of 4 ranks (for WAS) which is why they look more like columns.

Since this project has been going since 2007 I think it's high time I finished it. One way to do this is to take it off the shelves and put it full-frontal as a reminder of what needs doing.
